Is it possible (with MC11) to make a smartlist that looks for a certain word in a given field, and if that word is found, then the file(s) are listed ? There might also be other words in that field, but the list only looks for the one. Anyone understand ? ;-)
The same thing put differently: Is it possible to make a search and then save that search as smartlist ?
Thx,

I'm not sure if thats what you want to do, but you can search in the search box, and then save the results in a playlist.
But as far as i know its not possible to search for words in particular fields.

Well the word I'm looking for only appears in one field/column, so this is ok, but if I do like you suggest, won't the list be static ? It will not find the future files with the same information...

Perhaps I don't understand well your question, but if the "word" is always in the same field, you can just create a new smartlist with this condition:
[Your field]=your word
Wouldn't that work? Every time a new file contains "the word" in "your field" the file will be automatically added to your smartlist.
Sorry if I did not understand well.

I'm sure your understanding is fine, I just have a hard time explaining it :-)
This is about "Comment"-field, where I (in cover songs) have "Original: <artist name>". The artist name if dirrerent many times, so "[Comment]=Original:" will not work. It only finds the songs that only have the word "Original:" in the comment field and as soon as there is an artist name, it will not find those. It would be great if wildcards like * could be used...

Click advanced and type manually [Comment]=Original: into to smart list rule field.
I already tried this. "[Comment]=Original:" only finds the songs that have "Original:" in the comment field. It does not find for example "Original: Beatles"...

It should work as i tried too. We must be doing something differently then...
Yes we were... my mistake... I had [Comment]=[Original:] when it should be [Comment]=Original:
Thanks.
