I'm new to MC and currently testing MC11 which is very promising but have a few questions which I can't get the answers for by using 'search'.
I've got three rooms; living / study / gym
the living has a htpc connected to the audio/tv
the study has got a dedicated server-pc (mail only)
the gym has nothing at the moment
there is a seperate storage-networked-harddisk for audio/video
I would like music in all three rooms, not necessary the same but at this stage that would not matter. Installing MC11 on all systems would provide that, altought I could have a problem if they wanted to use the same music-file.
How would multizone or client/server help in this situation?
Both sound like good options I could use but which one is best and why.
thanks

Please try a search for "Library Server" here. It has replaced Media Server in the latest build of MC11. It's configured and started under "Plug-ins" in the tree on the left. It will serve your entire library to other PC's on the LAN or on the Internet.
On the client side, you start MC (must be the same build) and you do Library/Search for Media Server. You can manually add entries for servers under Library Manager.

OK, will do.
thanks for putting me on track

Look at my system. I'm doing that and more. And I would recommend multi-zone if you can lay the cables to the amp in the rooms, if not you'll have to have a computer there. I have solved that problem by running all cables up to the attic and down where I want them. Also there's no problem accessing the same track from several clients at the same time, at least not when doing multi-zone.
