Title: Ripping Multi CD's
Post by: LonWar on December 02, 2004, 07:31:31 pm
Hello, I am starting to rip a bunch of Christmas cd's for the Wife and Daughter units. Is there a way to rip 2 cd's at once? Or can you just rip one and queue the other?

Look under;

Tools, Options, Select Devices in the left pane and the  "Advanced Ripping Options" arrow on the right.

At the bottom is an "Expert Options" section where you can set what you are looking for.

Not to sound daft..... But.

I selected 2 concurrent drives...

I am ripping the first one, then I click on rip for the second and the Action Window flashes for a sec, but only 1 cd is ripping....

Can anybody rip 2 cd's at once with this version?

 ? I too noticed that the concurrent ripping isnt functioning in this version. Just getting ready to rip ALL of my CD's. Put in 4, and then 6 CD's to rip to APE but only one will rip at a time. It 's worked in past versions. And I do have the options to rip with all drives selected.

MC11.0.133 didn't work for me, but 11.0.140 is working with 2 drives.

I click on "Drives & Devices" which displays both the CD's loaded then RIP CD from the Action pane.

If you select one of the CD's and then RIP CD, it only RIPs that selected CD rather than all loaded CDs.  (Not sure if this is by design or a bug??)

Also the display doesn't show the progress in the right pane like MC10 did (used to have a % complete column for each track).

Gamer. was just doing that exact thing...ripped two dozen cd's for the holiday season.  Am using 11.0128, with advanced ripping options set to>  encode on the fly, 2 concurrent processes, copy mode. normal.  I always put the cd's in one at a time and check to see if the art etc is there, then when both have been checked for errors or omissions in the tags, i choose the rip option and show list.   9 times out of 10, this works really well, but  every  once in a while it only shows a single drive, but is actually ripping two tracks at a time ( as shown on the ripping dialogue box).  happy ripping and happy holidays, joyoux noel, felice navidad, and mele kelekimaka!!!!  Bet
