New Forum doesn't allow changing of text size anymore. I need the larger text sizes.
-
Can you change it in your browser?
-
Yes, and I can still change the text size on other web pages as well.
-
Bump - please fix this, as it is difficult to for me (and probably others) to read here in the forum without the large text size.
-
I looked yesterday and didn't see where it could be changed. Where was the setting in the old software?
Try Profile/Look and Layout/Current Theme/Change.

Jim, modelmaker:
In IE, choosing View/Text Size/Larger etc. does nothing.
FWIW in Firefox, choosing View/Text Size/Increase, Decrease etc. works fine.
I dunno why. If modelmaker is using IE this wont be any help though. 2 Firefox posts from me within the space of 5 minutes. Just installed and playing with a new toy. So far I like it. But obviously Im no expert.

I can see the same with the default screen, but when I switch to the SMF theme, size changes work in IE. Odd.

So it does. Unfortunately for me the SMF default theme is, well, a bit rubbish - where is my wonderful hand crafted avatar? Not that old familiar comforting MC look. Still, it may be a solution for modelmaker.
-
Also the "Classic YaBB SE" theme allows changing the text size in IE.
-
Looks like the process of auto converting the old template is to blame. If I can't get it to do what it is supposed to I'll edit the classic font and switch everyone over to it.
-
yes, I do use IE and the option is under View.
Sorry to be ignorant, but would someone remind me what SMF theme is and where do I change it?
Thanks for looking into this. Jay.

Jim already did it:

Try Profile/Look and Layout/Current Theme/Change.
Your personal Profile button is on the top of this page. Try the "Classic" theme.

Thanks Alex! Classic works for me.
Gotta stop staring at those visualizations, then I night not need the large print! (actually, my last pair of bifocals focus closeup at about 12 inches which is great for my modelmaking and detail work and the upper part is medium to long distance but neither work very well for that critical 16-18 inches for viewing monnitors, so I either need the large text or I have to constantly change between my newer and older specticals - which is a pain in the...)
