Title: How do you back-up your collection?
Post by: iCamp on December 09, 2004, 09:59:39 am
I now have music across three of my five hard drives (for a total of 440GB of space).  It suddenly occured to me that I could potentially loose all my organizational and ripping work if something happened to my PC or if a hard drive crashed.

So, I'd like to know how you guys back up your collection?  Are there inexpensive high-capacity tape back-up solutions?  Is DVD the best method (though it appears I can only fit 6 to 8 lossless albums per DVD disc)?  What else is there?

This has been discussed several times, so you could find information by searching here.

Heres a link to my tale of woe (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=23765.0) with writeable media. DVDs may be different. I still use CDR and DVDR, but one day Ill have enough money to ensure I dont rely on them.
