Post by: Wolfsrudel on December 10, 2004, 05:25:41 pm
since your software-update...the forum is nearly unusable slow for me (germany).
i have a 2mbit-cable-flatrate and everything is fine until i start the jriver-forum.

the "http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/" site is fast as always - but my ie doesnīt even load the icon-files /button on the interact-pages.

any ideas what going wrong?

ps: posting a msg takes 30sec at least.

We can see a problem, too, but it isn't exactly as you've described.  I see occasional delays of 40 to 60 seconds, about every 5 or 10 minutes.  We're trying to solve the problem.  Thanks for reporting it.

i was wondering about it but did not think it was the forum software, thought it was the internet or busy server

I have noticed the problem too. It happens from time to time as Jim said. It is not about the Internet congestion because other Minneapolis servers are responding quickly at the same time.

Bob seems to be already working on this. (I visited the simplemachines.org forum  ;) )

My theory is that it occurs when someone else (or multiple people) are searching.

It is probably database version related and I may have to upgrade it.

In the meantime I tried something suggested on the sm forum. Let's see if it helps or not.
