Title: media center vs media jukebox
Post by: kewe65 on December 16, 2004, 01:24:00 pm
i'm new to media center (v10).

what's the relationship between mc and mj?

i noticed that on the media center website, ALL of the skins that are available when selecting Media Center 10, bring up download files that are only compatible with media jukebox.

they were married but now they are divorced

MJ was a glimer in JimH's eye once

Media Center Is Newer (I Recomend Media Center 11)

Media Jukebox has not been updated for a few years (thats why it has been discounted i guess)

not into skins but there is a combo box you can select

i think it defaults to MC9 that is no longer sold

It's not just the skins.  Most of the plug-ins on the website also have .mjp extensions despite me already selecting media CENTER 10.

I believe the mjp extention, is just a installer.... What plugin are you trying to install that doesn't work?

thanks for that.

however, that doesn't resolve the problem.  i was simply using AlbumView as an example.

any thoughts about what is really going on?

Hate to say it, but I think it's your sys... I have tried and tested a bunch of skins and plugs and they all install fine.

Back Up your library... Uninstall MC, and reinstall.... Maybe a corrupt dll maybe?
Also be sure to use IE when downloading...

Try using IE to download plug-ins.

If that fails, right click on the link for the plug-in, choose save as, and save to your desktop.  Then execute the file by double clicking on it.
