Title: Setting up laptop to stream MC 11 library?
Post by: packyb on December 18, 2004, 03:00:11 pm
I have MC 11 installed on both my desktop pc and my laptop. My music library is saved on my desktop pc. I have a wireless home network, and want to set up MC on my laptop to wirelessly stream the music from my desktop pc. Is there a way to get the entire library that is in MC 11 on my desktop pc to appear in MC 11 on my laptop - so that I can control song selection from the laptop?

I've been trying to figure this out by reading in the forums - but I'm getting lost in the conversations about firedaemon, media server and library server. Is there a simple way to set this up?

You need a recent version of MC11.  Then find the Library Server under Plug-ins in the tree.  Check the options you want, then start it running.

On the client side, run MC, and do File/Library/Search for servers.
