For the past several weeks, I seem to get a "Buffer overrun detected" dialog on launch.
The first time I seemed to be able to correct it, I found that one of my 4 IDE drives was unplugged from the power supply (I had been doing some upgrades). After plugging it back in, the problem seemed to vanish.
The problem however has now returned. Each launch of Media Center 11.0.162 gives me a Buffer overrun on launch. I've tried installing previous versions, back to 1.45 with the same results.
It appears that I can ignore the dialog, and continue to use Media Center normally. If I acknowledge it by pressing Ok, Media Center closes.
Any thoughts?

After the error, are there any entries in the System Event log or the Applilcation Event log?
-
Afraid not. The Event Log is unchanged, with no new items being added after launching MC and getting the Buffer overrun message.
-
Who generates the message? Is this a windows message or does it come from a third party software?

Here's the entire dialog box:

Messsage:
Buffer overrun detected!
Program: ...\Files\J River\Media Center 11\Media Center.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
