Title: Support for .MKV chapters?
Post by: raym on December 28, 2004, 05:50:13 pm
Hi. I found some resonably recent discussions on Matroska (.mkv) playback support in MC11. With the right filters, support is definately there but limited.

One of the key benfits of this now popular container is it's support for chapter indexing but MC11 doesn't allow it. If you attempt to navigate through a .mkv movie while in MC (Ctrl-N or Ctrl-L), playback restarts from the beginning. Unfortunately, you need to resort to some other player like Zoom Player for this fetaure.

How difficult would it be to implement this in a not too distant build?

We'll look at it.  Please feel free to remind us if it doesn't get done.

A reminder as requested. Is this a do-able feature in the near future?

Thanks.

Raym,

its a hot item and many users wish better video support / or a plug-in abilities to use a more powerfull videoplayer such as Zoomplayer.

I am confident the guys are listening to us - but interesting that you visionary guy already requested it a year ago   ;)
