Is it possible to convert the files once and then when data about them changes(inside MC) only the data is synced and not the entire file which right now re-converted from flac to mp3 every time and takes forever.
thanks

I am just testing and now I realize that even if it allready is an mp3, MC 11 still removes the origiinal and re uploads it when library info has changed for that file. So how can I get MC to only upload the metadata and not the file itself. I think I remember MC 10 being able to do this and I think itunes does this as well.
I am also using the latest version of MC with the latest Ipod firmware.

datdude,
There is not currently a way to do this.

Thats a bummer. I am experimenting with the genre fiield and replacing it with moods and hoping i prefer it that way on the ipod. If I decide not than I am going to have to retransfer every song and reconvert as well if I go back to using traditional genre's plus I am always adjusting ratings so this pretty much sucks since I have to convert every time. I have tried it with seperate mp3's on my PC but that is a nightmare tyring to stay in sync with my main MC library.
Steve, if you know of a better solution to be able to keep my lossless files in sync with my ipod, please let me know.
Thanks

datdude,
More options could be added to handle this more gracefully. Perhaps in the future.

Sounds Good.
One of those options could be to show the differences in the metadata of the Ipod files vs the current MC Library that way I can adjust the metadata on the Ipod without having to reconvert and retransfer on my now 5 year old computer.
