Title: Net remote Do not understand
Post by: Sniffy on January 06, 2005, 12:50:23 pm
Hi
I am confused about Net remote.
I think I could play Mc11 on my hifi connecting My pocket pc to my hifi.
But I see that net remote is "only" a remote control that play music on my PC.

So I would like to know a software which can play (stream) music by the pocket pc connected by the helmet on the hifi.

I'm confused by your question.  Can you clarify where your music files are stored (PPC or PC)?

If you want to play your music files on your PC and listen to them through your HiFi you'll need to connect the soundcard of your PC to your HiFi.  NetRemote has the ability to allow you to remotely control Media Center on your PC (via WiFI) and your HiFi (via Infra Red).

Thanks for your answer.
I want to hear music on the ppc.
Then connect the ppc to the HIFI by the helmet.

You would need a client program for Windows CE, and we haven't done that.

And PPC sound cards shouldn't be connected to anything else than cheap headphones - they all suck!

Ok thanks everybody.
I have to
move my computer
or buy a very long cable
or buy a upnp receiver
or continue with Archos jukebox.

Buy a long cable, preferably a single digital out (digital coaxial) if your soundcard and amp supports it.  Then use NR to remotely control MC running on your PC.
