Title: Songs and titles are off

I can't say exactly when this occurred, but there are a number of songs that now do not match the tag information.  What happened?

I did defrag the drive containing my music files.

Are your files on a network server ? Then you should read

Actually, I read that thread before posting.  I don't understand all that was said, but my tunes are on an external drive.  None were ripped using iTunes.  I found one CD with many discrepancies, so maybe that's it.  I removed and re-ripped the tunes.  Now they are consistent, but I don't know whether there are other discrepancies.
