What's the feasibility of developing a plug-in that uses a barcode reader to get a product ID/SKU from a CD/DVD you're ripping and uses that code to obtain accurate specifics off the 'net?
Would people use it? Is the "automatic (yadb/cddb) and (occationally) inaccurate" vs "manual intervention and (hopefully) accurate" trade off acceptable?

depends on if they have a sdk with a OCX that can be used
it would also require the user to enter in the data if it does not exist
and it can't be done for the cd, it would need to be done per track
the problem is there is still no way in MC (that i know of) to fill this data field for this Current CD thru the MC SDK.
I have asked before
You Get J River to do this and they have a OCX for the Bar Reader and yes it can be done.

No need for an SDK, almost all barcode readers have the capability to punch the data straight into the application as if it was typed in by the user, i.e. keyboard emulation.
