Title: When playing video MC always uses the Windows' default soundcard
Post by: tjobbins on January 29, 2005, 10:40:24 pm
The Output settings under Playback allow me to select any soundcard to output to - this works fine for audio, but when playing video the settings are ignored and MC always uses the soundcard specified as Windows' default.

I'm using 10.0.173 - but I've done a search on this forum and I see the problem as reported as early as August 2003, so I guess it's been around for ages.

This is really annoying for me - my Windows' default soundcard is a 7.1 surround card with EAX2 that I use for games - I have to have this as default as few games allow you to specify which soundcard to use.  But I want MC to always use the SPDIF output on my pro audio card.

Thanks

Tom
