Title: MusicBrainz Plugin
Post by: eclipxe on February 07, 2005, 02:38:12 am
Not sure if there exists a conflict of interest here (with YADB) but I am interested in developing a MusicBrainz plug-in - which would basically merge the functionality of the MusicBrainz tagger with MediaCenter's library -

I was wondering if:
a) Is there any interest for this, or any other plug-ins or development that is already doing this
b) Is it possibile to control the YADB process (submitting track info) from the SDK?

Thanks

a: yes
b: no

I had thought about this about a year ago, but the SDK does not support Visual basic (from what MusicBrainz) told me.

but if you know "C" you could use MusicBrainz for track lookup

They now have a C# wrapper for MusicBrainz, so I am basing the code off of this.

What I now wonder is the best way to implement the functionality. Either

a) Making a clone of their Tagger that uses MediaCenter as a back-end
b) Making an entirely new way of tagging and organizing that is more integrated in the Media Center process.

Any suggestions guys?

Thanks!

I would love a MusicBrainz Tagger plug-in for MC. It would work great with the Audioscrobbler combo.

What isn't clear to me re TRM IDs is whether the music brainz plugin can calculuate them. or is it dependendt on the MB website to get them ?
