We're still working on Media Center 11. We appreciate your feedback on it, but MC11 may not work as expected and we can't yet fully support it. Some plugins still do not work.
We recommend that you use MC10 below, but if you want to use MC 11 while we're building it, PRICES are here:

MC 11 Improvements
- CUE file playback support with sample-accurate MP3 seeking
- Many Theater View enhancements
- Animated Direct3D file browsing
- Split views so you can look at two (or more) views at the same time (ex. look at Media Library and Playing Now together)
- Vastly improved database engine capable of handling 100,000's of files and large amounts of metadata (lyrics, bios, etc.)
- Several memory and speed enhancements -- like database and skin unloading when minimizing MC
- Much of MC's interface can be translated to other languages
- Integrated database import and update with smart broken linking repairing, and other nice features
- MC can run with guest permissions on Windows 2000 / Windows XP
- New view customization system with more flexibility for thumbnail size, text, etc.
- Options dialogs reworked -- several small options added
- Added multi-zone synchronization
- Added Album Gain support
- Document support with full text searching / indexing
- Pane auto-sizing
- Tile view that allows fully customizable Track Info style tiles to be used in file lists
- New database caching layer that makes a huge speed difference in many areas of MC
- File tagging happens in a background thread so MC can continue to be used while it's saving tags
- Basic image editing
- Enhanced album grouping for pictures so pictures taken together get grouped without any user intervention
- Preview mode to only play the intro of songs
- Video CD playback support
- Audio resampling uses Shibatch's high-quality SSRC filters
- Support for ATI HDTV card

Two things (and one is a suggestion):
1. Can you PLEASE have MC stop nagging me to import when I open it with an empty library? I have a reason that I don't import but every time I open MC I get the Import dialog. Please???
2. Can you add an option to the Playing menu option that if the file being played is a VIDEO file it will jump to Playing now? The reason is that when I'm playing music I don't really need to go into playing now but if I play a video I DO want to watch it. Thanks guys!

*CUE FILE ISSUES*
- MC complains it can't tag CUE tracks when update tags on file changes is ticked. It is preferrable that it not complain about this like with WAV or video files.
- If fix or remove broken links is ticked in the Import/Update dialog, *ALL* previously imported CUE tracks are LOST !!!
- If an album with imported+analysed CUE tracks is moved (within MC) after import MC loses the address of those imported CUE tracks. The big file the CUE tracks are associated with is not lost.

I don't know if this is a bug or by design, but it's annoying anyhow :(
If one expands the tree so you have a scrollbar, scrolls down a bit and drag a file to the tree, it resets and jumps to the top. Could it be done so that the tree stays put?
Thanks!

Two things:
1. (Bug) I cannot change view settings anymore. I select -customize current view-, I add fields or choose presets I formerly defined. In any case after pressing OK or APPLY the view is reset again.
2. (Question / Bug?) When using the split view mode I sometimes want to search tracks. Independently of which split view is active a search impacts all views. What is the concept behind it? Why is it not possible to only influence the current active view? (A suggestion for split views: Please allow to fix view areas in split view mode, e.g. in a way that I can always find Playing Now at the top and my albums view scheme in the middle...
-
When in Tagging Mode, the check marks do not appear when a category (e.,g, Genre) is selected, and the view scheme panels do not update unless you navigate to another view and back.
This was repported in build .188.
Now it's fixed.
Thanks Matt

MC is crashing on file delete.
To reproduce:
1. Select files in Recently Imported list
2. Press Shift-Del and select the middle option - send to recycle bin
3. MC crashes
On return to MC, the files are shown as orphaned (red x) and on attempt to remove them, MC crashes again.

I can now delete orphaned library entries. However, I don't try to send the links to the recycle bin.
-
I am getting an error that comes up at various times, saying:
Media Center has encountered critical error #30. Some essential component is missing or corrupted.
Please Uninstall, Reinstall and report it.
This invariably crashes MC.

Do you have a license for MC?

I do indeed.

Library server still isn't accepting connections if authentication is enabled.

Tools/Options/Encoding then select it.
