Title: How do I create a playlist externally
Post by: ccs-ed on July 02, 2003, 04:08:23 pm
I have a data base that can easily select 1, 10 or 100s of tunes I want to listen to (from among about 9,000 I have listed in about 2600 directories (artists) spread over 8 disk drives).  How can I create a text file (list) so that mj will play it?  (Selecting them individually in mj takes way too long).

Text File Format is:
H:\Pop\Artist1\Song1.Wav
E:\Pop\Artist2\Song2.Wav
D:\Pop\Artist3\Song3.Wav
H:\Pop\Artist1\Song4.Wav
etc.

From the data base application, I can select "top 10", "pop", "1960 - 1969" and immediately create a list of 100 songs (like above) which I'd like to play in mj.

Thanks,

Ed

Save the file as an .m3u and feed it to MJ / MC.  It'll understand.

You may want to play with smartlists and other goodies inside of MJ / MC -- you may not need an external program.

Thanks.
