Have now tried 2 Ipod photos with 193 (I took the first one back to the Apple store) and both are showing the same odd behaviour.
Choosing a song will result in the song being "skipped" for the next one or the next one after that in the playlist in about 50% of the time. The same thing happens as the playlist goes on and when I "fast forward" to the next track.
The first Ipod photo I had I took back because of this skipping - but it seems incredible that I could get 2 Ipods with the same hardware defect. Therefore I'm guessing that there must be something about the Ipod photo that is different from other Ipods as 193 works perfectly with my 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen models.

I can't help right now. I have not had time to play with the iPod photo and do the work to make sure it is compatible. I will get to it as soon as possible, but I am not sure exactly when.

Thanks for the reply Steve - I can wait.
Just wanted to be sure that this was an MC issue - too much of a coincidence to think it was hardware twice in a row!
