I have recently downloaded a music file which will play on my Windows Media Player (version 9) but neither play nor import to MJ8. The file is identified by Windows Media Player as an
MPEG Audio Layer-3
I wish to import it into MJ8 and if necessary convert to ogg vorbis or MP-3. I am running Windows 98se.
Help, please.
Thanks

What's the file extension?
-
File type appears to be mp3.rin.ru and is currently on my desktop.
-
Try renaming the file so it has the extension mp3.

Tried changing the extension, even sent it to myself via www.yousendit.com and put it in a different folder MJ8 wouldn't open it, yet Windows Media Player played it. MJ8 does show it, but did give me the message box "MJ was unable to play...please check and make sure the path... All my filters are off. Suggestions. I'll be happy to send you the file if you'll give me an email address. (35 sec. download via DSL). I'd appreciate any help.

if you change the extender you would of course need to re-import it since you changed the file name.
