Title: Invalid License
Post by: stevowilson on May 07, 2003, 09:19:13 am
I've been using MJ8 for a while.  No problem.  Now I can't access media editor without an upgrade window popping up to upgrade from basic.  I try to reinstate my licence, even reinstall MJ8 download.  All I get is "Invalid License. Error=14".  Help!

Try the latest version from our downloads page:

Thanks for your input.  I've tried redownloading and reinitiating my license.  Each time I get "error code 14".  I sense somehow my program or a file got corrupted.  At which case I can only choose to remove the MJ program and repurchase the program (which sucks!).  Any feedback or ideas so as I won't loose all my music.

Thanks!

Make sure that what you are downloading and installing is the latest version from the download page... DO NOT reinstall a previous version that you may had in your Hard Drive.

Just In Case

i think he also needs to go to the restore page, and not use the restore file that expires 14 days after you get it.

I have the same thing happening to me and I can't get any help.  Then people respond with links to purchase a new license... I don't think so buddy!

Pete,
If you will take the time to read the section for the program you are using, it will tell you everything that any person, living or dead, could tell you.

I finally figured out how to redownload successfully.  Thanks for the input.  Now when I repurchased MJ for my new computer I paid the $39.95 for MC9 last Dec.  I got MJ8.  How do I convert or upgrade to 9?

At least you had a version that was still supported.  I had a similer situation and I was able to restore my license.  However I had no plugins for DSP, ripping, and whatever else I had.  But guess what, >:( I can no longer download them either.  So I have a registered program that does the same as my Mindows meda player, or real player, and winamp.  But no plugins!!!!

This is the same thing I have and I can't find an answer and it has not worked for months (it only worked right for about 3 months).

Please let me know if you find anything out.

Pete :(

Read the FAQ carefully.  V8 and V9 registration keys are used to obtain install keys that are good for 14 days.

"Losing" a license may be a result of running other software that changes the machine name.
