Title: Moving from MC10 to MC11 - tips?
Post by: gpvillamil on February 23, 2005, 07:30:24 pm
OK, I've been trying out MC11 now for a while, it works great. I especially like the combined update and import function (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=17505.msg122253#msg122253). I have been running MC10 alongside as well, but now I want to move 100% to MC11.

Any tips on how to do this?

Is MC11 using its own copy of the library, or is it pointing to the MC10 library?

Any issues related to the MC10 Media Server? Other than stopping it in MC10, anything else I should do?

Any way to bring over customizations, settings etc from MC10? (apart from the ones in the library).

Do you use CUE files at all ? If so, after you import cue entries and tag them, if you try the Fix broken links, these CUE files will be lost as MC 11 in its current state treats these as broken links (!)

IF not, i found Alex's intructions (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?action=display;board=3;threadid=24333;start=0#msg169717) quite helpful in installing MC 11 whilst still keeping MC 10.

I know you want to move to  MC11 right away, but i advise going parallel with both 10 & 11  for at least a cpl of weeks. The above mentioned bug made me glad i did.
