When looking at file info with Monkey's Audio, what does 'Format Flags' stand for? And is a higher or lower number good, bad, indifferent?

They're internal flags, really only useful for debugging.

The revised file header format of 3.98 made most of the flags obsolete.  It's all described in detail in MACLib.h in the source code available here: http://monkeysaudio.com/developers.html
