I've got an Archos Jukebox Multimedia attached to my computer via USB. It shows up as a portable drive in Explorer, and I've been able to use Media Center (up to v10) to upload files with the "Portable Drive" plug-in. Now that I'm using v11.0.198 it can't seem to be able to find the drive. I've got the plug-in installed, and I can see "JUKEBOX (G:)" as a drive in Explorer, but it doesn't show up as an item under "Drives & Devices".
It seems like the plug-in isn't broken for everyone, so I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas.
Thanks.

JoshuaHorowitz,
The way MC11 handles portable devices like the Archos Multimedia Jukebox has changed since MC10.
In the MC11 menu, go to Tools-->Options-->Handheld and click on the "Configure remote and fixed drives for detection" button. Click on Add and browse to the drive-letter and directory-path of your Archos. Name it and accept your choices.
Back in the main screen, MC11 detects the Archos after pressing F5 and will build a database of files. The Archos will show up under the Drives & Devices tree.
You can now use the Archos for synchronising music.

Thanks! ;D
Was this someplace obvious I should have checked first? Just curious.

Well, since the subject has come up several times...you could have done a search through this forum first ;)
(i.e. a search for Archos finds http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=24363.0 and http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=25563.0)

plopje,
Thanks for passing this information on.

You're welcome ;)
Now that I think about it, maybe it is a good time to update the helpfile of MC11. I.e. info about handhelds is rather outdated and sometimes plain wrong so it will not help new users getting to know MC11.

Thanks, we will update it as soon as we can (not sure when).
