Title: Anyway to disable tagging mode?

The checkboxes make it hard to highlite fields(Year) in pane view with my mouse and sometimes I accidently drag them instead of highlite and then the tags get changed without knowing it.  The tagging mode is very usefull but it only asks you if you would like to enable and there seems to be no way to disable it.
