Title: Playing song files from Explore
Post by: savethedaydave on March 04, 2005, 01:31:14 pm
On one comuter, I can double-click a song file in Windows Explore, and the song is sent
immediately to the Playing Now list in MC, and begins playing.  In the other, the double-click
method of sending the file to MC doesn't work.  Any help?

This is not an MC setting--it is set in Windows.  Open Windows Explore-->Tools-->Folder Options-->
Choose the "File Type" tab-->after the list of registered File Types is populated, scroll down until
you find the file type you want to open up in MC with a d-click, and select that file type (for example,
MP3)-->click on the "change" button, and under the "Recommended Programs" list, choose MC-->OK-->
close the Folder Options window.  Now, when you double-click an MP3 file in Windows Explore, it will
open and play in MC.  Unfortunately, if you previously had MC open before going to Explore, then MC
doesn't open automatically with the launching of the file, but you can open it with a simple click on MC
in the Taskbar.
