Title: Rebuilding database from Ipod
Post by: jleeanderson on March 08, 2005, 08:54:09 pm
I lost my itunes information from a computer crash.  I have about 1700 songs on my ipod and don't want to start over and erase.  Is there anyway to transfer the songs from the ipod back to the computer database?  Will it be itunes or something different?
please help
Jason

I'm not sure what you want - do you want to copy the music files themselves or just the information about the music (ratings etc.)?

I would like to copy the music files themselves back to the database on my PC computer whether it goes back as an I tunes directory.  Do you know if there is a program that is capable of doing that?

There are some useful looking links here (http://macs.about.com/od/ipod/a/copy_from_ipod.htm).  I'll have a play with my son's iPod if they don't do it for you.
