I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop that I use with MC11 via a USB iMic Audio to my amplifier. It works fine as a single zone setup with either USB audio or headphone individually.
Is there a way to use the headphone port as a second zone (SigmaTel Audio) to play a separate playlist? I have tried various device settings and cannot get this to work, even though the Zone Manager allows you to set up each zone. If this can work, what should be the correct settings for each zone?

If not, any recommendations for external soundcards that work well with MC, so that I can use a laptop for 2 or more separate audio zone outputs.

Just saw this while searching for info on zones.
I have used the Turtle Beach Audio Advantage (http://www.turtlebeach.com/site/products/audioadvantage/) USB audio device with MC10 and MC11 and it works great. I've also used 2 at a time for multiple zones.

I've used several USB audio devices with MC11 and they work great. Sometimes MC11 gets picky about how it will select them. Some won't select properly using directsound so I use wav output.
I *have* found that MC11 can get confused about the zones if you create/delete them several times. I found it was necessary to quit MC11 and then remove them from the registry manually. Then restart MC11 and set them up again properly.
