Title: MC11: Split View Suggestion
Post by: sbsp2 on March 09, 2005, 10:44:49 am
How about:

A way to lock a Split View (SV) window to a specific view (anything you can view today).  So, you could keep one view as Playing Now and have another one always follow Org Tree clicks (this would be really nice!).

Rules:
1. One SV window must always be unlocked
2. If two or more SV window are unlocked, Org Tree clicks display their contents in the last used SV window (as it does today)...never in any locked SV window(s)

Implementation:
1. Easy way to lock and unlock a SV window (button in/around window, maybe)
2. Easy way to know if an SV window is locked or not
3. Disable lock feature if not availabe (because only 1 SV window is enabled or all others are locked)
4. When changing SV window count, auto-unlock the SV window(s) if the remaining window(s) are all locked

Better 'active split' identification is needed quite badly.

I agree.  Maybe a coloured highlight frame around the entire active SV window frame would be nice (better).
