When transferring files with the Conversion option selected, the 11.0.213 build forgets which option you had previously selected and always reverts to wma. It's easy to forget to check this and should be remembered between sessions.
Also, when you check the "ignore same file types", which I assume means don't convert mp3 to mp3 it still shows the message "converting" for same file types. Or is it more specific in that it checks all the flags, so for instance 320kb mp3 is not considered the "same" at 128kb mps?
Finally, after each track is transferred, MC pops to the front, interrupting any other work which is going on at the time and which, for large track transfers gets annoying very quickly.
Thanks,
Mark

I have EXACTLY the same issues noted above - the conversion option keeps going back to WMA, and when I select MP3 Encoded and "Skip same file type", it still insists on converting EVERY file being transferred to the iPod (most of which are MP3).
MP3 conversions didn't work at all with previous builds - it would just hang as soon as it started trying to transfer.

Hopefully this is fixed with 214.
The encoder system underwent a major rework a few builds back, and there are still a few gremlins left.
Thanks for your patience.

Just installed 214 and did a sync; the encoder settings appear to stick now - however, conversion doesn't work; MC didn't transfer several MPC files to my iPod. Things appear to be back to the way they were before 213 ...

I confirm that conversion is now broken in 11.0.214

The recent changes to the encoders broke the conversion for Portables. It will be fixed soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm still on 205 and about to use my brand new iPOD for the first time. Should I upgrade or not?
-
Stay at .205, unless you only have mp3 files. It really is broken.

The next build of MC should resolve the conversion issues.
Sorry for the bump in the road.
