214 broke something - I can no longer tranfer non-mp3, via conversion, to my iPod.

Mark,
Is this the problem?

Jim,
I am experiencing the problem these guys are reporting, but it is NOT due to conversion. I do not have conversions set on synching. (I use playlists to weed out any music that isn't supposed to be on the iPod).
I was only trying to transfer iTMS music, so I thought it was an mp4 problem, but it seems it is affecting all non-mp3 music.

Hi there,
I'm having the same problem. I simply can't upload anything which is not mp3.
Cheers,

Same problem using .216. I'm not converting files. These AAC (m4a and m4b) files are not DRM'd.
-
I continue to have this problem with 216
I have the mp3 encoder installed but FLAC files are failing to be supported and are dropped from the sync.

Me too, problem continues with .216 -- doing no conversion, simply trying to transfer iTunes files.

I too am having this problem: cannot send any aac files to my 3G ipod. this with builds 214 and 219. Reinstalled 205 and it works again...

All,
Conversion to Portables is broken and should be fixed in tonight's ( v 220) build.

I'm assuming that this didn't make the build, since
1) There's no mention of anything like this in the build release notes, and more importantly,
2) It still doesn't work :'( (sigh...)

I'm assuming that this didn't make the build,
I can confirm that it indeed has not yet been fixed...
To be clear, I do not convert when sending to the ipod, but rather send the aac files directly as aac...It does not seem to have anything to do with the 'sending to ipod' part but rather something with parsing the ipod database or something...Since existing aac files on the ipod also show up as unsupported when viewing all files on the ipod.

djp and trott,
Yesterday, MC was modified to customize the conversion settings for each device. Unfortunately this caused a problem with file type recognition for iPod. The next build (221) should resolve these. Please get it when it is available.

Using .221. It still won't transfer AAC files.
Steve, help! I'm missing my favorite podcasts because of this. :)

Try clicking 'Check for Updates' and then try again.

Try clicking 'Check for Updates' and then try again.
Steve
I clicked menu/Help/Check For Updates. Received message "No updates available".
Did I check too soon?
-
No. Ignore that message for now.

Is this working now? I'd like to update my iPod again since it had some sort of issue where it didn{t want to turn on, and when it finally did all of my rating changes were erased, and I lost about 12 hours worth of changing ratings. So I want to get the ratings uploaded to MC so it doesn't happen again, but I{ve also made a bunch of changes in MC that will result in songs being deleted from the iPod, and without this fixed they won't get reloaded.
Thanks.

Justin,
If you want the latest, best to download tonight's version and install it fully rather than using 'Check for updates' if you want to be sure to have all the latest.
