Title: MC11 - TV Losing Audio Sync
Post by: DeanB on March 18, 2005, 04:12:49 pm
Downloaded 218 today - i'm sure this wasnt an issue in an earlier beta...

WinTV PVR250 - Audio Sync get progressively worse as i open or especially drag any windows.

Pressing Stop and Play again seems to help, but does not completely cure it :(

Did you try rebooting after you installed?  It might work.

Hi Jim

Did a restart, and still not syncing properly - sometimes seems to be upto 2 second delay !!

Have noticed if i pause, and then use timeshifted video - no sync problems and works great  ?

Have now managed to crash MC totally by clicking pause and then pause again to timeshift by a couple of seconds -  black TV screen, and then total lockup.

Also have noticed that occasionally i click a tv channel, the audio changes, but the picture stays frozen on previous channel.

Now watching timeshifted TV, i've noticed that there is no 'juddering', pausing of the picture when dragging windows or when sometimes scrolling down Firefox or IE browser windows and live TV

See if you can simplify what else is running.  Check the task manager for background processes.  Virus checker, for example.

Have checked running progs - nothing that hasnt been running for last few weeks whilst using previous 11 Beta.

Still have problem with no other desktop programs running

Here are processes

I've checked with Hauppauge WinTV2000, and its playing fine with no sync problems.

Just looked at processes with MC running and notice its running at 33% when playing live or timeshifted  TV.

Also noticed i can make MC lock up everytime by pressing pause button during live tv and pressing it again while screen is black waiting to show paused image (about 3 secs)

I may have broken it while trying to support WinTV PVR 150. Other users of WinTV PVR 350 also have problems with this build. Thanks for reporting it. I will try to fix it as soon as I can.

Hauppauge gave the same name for their capture filters for PVR 150 and for PVR 250/350, yet the actual functions are so different. That is why 250/350 are affected while am working on 150.
