Title: How to start MC11 fail-safe?
Post by: PedroBeltran on March 29, 2005, 12:44:15 pm
Hi all:

I changed playback mode to ASIO just to try my Audigy NX capabilities, closed MC11 and started again. Now I'm getting "Runtime error" and MC11 dies just starting so I can't find a way to change the settings back.
Is there a way to start MC11 fail-safe or change the playback settings?

Thanks in advance.

You could uninstall the soundcard driver temporally. Start and close MC without it and install the driver again. Perhaps MC uses the system default next time.

Thanks for a very quick answer.

I did it and in the process I updated drivers and firmware.
Everything is working fine in DirectSound playback.

Is there any problem with SoundBlaster Audigy ASIO?

I have used my Terratec soundcard with ASIO without problems. I don't have experiences about SB Audigy ASIO, but I think some others here use it.

I've found the way to roll back the playback settings.

1) When the message: "There was an error starting playback...." is posted just clic OK
2) Ignore the second one: "Runtime error!". I mean don't clic on it yet
3) Change playback options
4) Clic OK to the message "Runtime error!" to close it
5) Restart MC11

Sorry for the inconveniences. I was in a hurry because can't live without music.
