Title: file/library/update library not working

What could stop this option from working? I have a bunch of dead files in the library that were on a hard drive mounted as F: When I go to file/library/update library and select "Remove files which do not exist" Media Center does not remove them. Could it think they are on removable media? If I ask MC to locate the files it gets as far as "my computer" then stops. Also I think MC knows the file does not exist as the icon next to it in the library is the little page with a cross on it. Still, it will not remove them in a library update.

I should add this is MC10 not 11
