Title: External Hard Drive Advice

The hard drive on my laptop is filling up and i am considering buying an external hard drive (around 200MB) with usb/firewire interface and move my music collection to this, and then play directly from the drive using media center.

There are lots of brands out there... personally i think La Cie looks better than any others, but some people are say it doesnt work properly http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000DC6B0/103-1004851-7514241?v=glance

can anyone recommend any brands that works well for playing music/movies from (and not just for backing up).

Check out NAS drives (Network Attached Storage).  You can put them anywhere on the network and connect any PC.
