This may actually be related to my other posts about library server.
When I import mp3 files that use internatinal characters in filenames and tags and my setting for "Non-unicode programs" is set to English, those files don't display correctly. Instead all those chars with asterisks are displayed (from upper ASCII).
So why is it peculiar? Because if I change this setting for "Non-unicode programs" to appropriate one (Russian in my case), it will still show them incorrecly. However if I reimport them then they will look ok.
I think MC10 does the same thing.

If a tag is stored in ASCII, MC uses the current locale to convert that information to Unicode. (since MC is fully Unicode) If the locale of the system doesn't match the ASCII, there'll be a problem. MC can't really avoid this.
When possible, tag your files in Unicode. (MC does this for MP3, APE, and possibly other file types)

Ok that explains it. Thanks. May be I will retag my library.
Library server still does not work right though....
