If you make changes to a file from the client end can these changes be sent back to the master PC with the library files on it.
How can this be controlled if its possible
-
No. Everyone wants this but in current versions its not possible.
-
So i dont get the point of the new library server.
What does it do that that V10 didnt.
-
Advantages of Library Server in MC11 over Media Server in prior versions.
1. The new architecture allows new servers to be written. Examples are the TiVo Server and the UPnP Server. This is much cleaner now.
2. Playcounts get updated in the server's library.
3. New files added to the server are available immediately to the client.
4. The client side can tell the server to convert to any format or bitrate (set in Tools/Options/Library on the client side). This allows two different users to connect at different bandwidths (from home at 100Mbps and from work at 128Kbps, for example).
5. We may make the server source available to other companies who want to build their own server plug-ins for MC.
