When ripping, and encoding with external encoder (mpc), MC rips the selected songs over and over and over, until I hit cancel. It seems that it just continues in and endless cycle, and produces numerous copies of each song.
I can't seem to get MC just to make one copy of each song.

Please try ripping to APE or WAV to test.

ripping to APE, it behaves as it should - only one copy.

Very strange... I just tried it with 11.0.233. Everything went OK. I have now one of my oldest album rips in new Musepak format. The last time I ripped the CD was 1998 and I used Xing MP3 @ CBR160.
11.0.234 (4/8/05)
1. Fixed: Not all settings for Portables were being individualized correctly.
2. Changed: Auto sync on connection of portable devices is enabled.
3. Changed: Reset of Portable devices will clear all registry settings for Portables.
I don't understand how these changes could make any difference, but I'll install 234 and try again.

It worked also with 234. I suspected the "Encode on-the-fly when ripping" option since it's not possible with an external encoder, but that didn't change anything. MC just passed the setting.
How about posting a full description of your system configuration and settings?

hehe...found out that somehow "eject after finished" was checked, and "autorip" was enabled..that must have been the why. Except that these things also were checked when trying with ape... :-\
But anyway, it just ripped an mpc file without continuing.
Thanks Alex for helping.
