Title: making Media Library searches "stick"?
Post by: coolblue on April 14, 2005, 07:01:24 am
Somebody please tell me if I'm missing something...

I complete the search box while in Media Library, get my results, switch to another view, then come back. What I would like is the search results from previously to still be available (without creating a playlist).

Is this possible? If so, how? If not, I'd like to cue it as a possible feature for a future release of MC.

At least the recently used search strings could be accessible.

MC remembers the earlier customized rules when using the "Rename Files ..." and "Fill Properties ..." tools and it has the "Right-click recent command count" function. Something similar would be nice to have in "Search".

so I guess I'm not alone in thinking this would be handy...

At the moment I can't think of *why* exactly, but I know I have had numerous round trips to the Media Library view where, on the return trip I thought "Gosh darn it (or some less lame version thereof) why can't I still see my search results from before.

Use the back button and your search and other view state settings will come back.  It's just like how a web browser works.

(Back shortcuts: Alt+Left, Backspace, mouse button, etc.)

That worked just dandy. Thanks!
