I discovered a strange behaviour with coverart:
This shows up for all albums correctly on the PC that i use to serve audio files (APE format, art stored internal and also as folder.jpg).
On the stremaing client PC, out of my 3410 Albums, I get the album coverart displayed correctly at about 80% of them, the others just dont make it accross for no known reason. I tried "quick find file" but this did not help the matter.
any clues ?

When you say "streaming", what do you mean? Library Server?
Netremote? There was a recent report of a similar problem.

Thanks for the fast reaction. I use Library server on the PC where all audio files are stored. The media PC in my living room receives these files, all perfect - except for the mentioned thumbnail issue

Do the same files fail each time?
Someone else just reported a problem that was solved by resizing the files (I think).
If you can find a file that fails, try making the image small (as a test).

Yes, on every start of MC11 the same albums show up without thimbs.
I just resized as suggest (from 128 by 128 to 64 by 64). It changed the thumbsizes but did not trigger any re-load of the missing ones, ie the same albums are still without thumb.
Maybe I need a complete delete of the place where MC11 stores the thumbs and start afresh?? if you believe thats worth a trial, where do I find this file?

Do the same tracks work if played locally? Maybe the images are in some of the tracks but not all of them?

The thumbs work perfectly on each single album on MC11 on the server computer ie locally. The problem only occurs when streaming to the client via Library Server.
Also on the client, I do get all the coverart if I go to "Playing Now" for the albums that are missing the Thumbs. I.e. this is definitely not a problem of missing cover art but just an issue of missing thumbnails.
Further hint: I am not sure this was only introduced in 236. It could have been around in the last few versions. Not too sure about that.

What's the status page for library server showing? Any error messages?

John, No Error messages on Library Server. It tells me that it received a request for the file and plays it. Same messages, independant whether I play albums that have the thumbs displayed on the client computer or wetherh I play albums where they are missing.

I dont rellay think this is a library server problem. It must be related to how MC11 fetches the thumbnails. Somehow it gets confused which thumbs it has already loaded and which ones are missing and it does not recognise that the missing ones are missing... if you know what I mean... :o
Back to my earlier question: Is there a way to delete the thumbs file so i can just try the entire excercise from scratch?

I'm not sure if this is related to this topic or if i should open a new topic:
since MC 11.236 my PPC with Netremote doesn't show any cover . I didn't change anything on my PPC, but i updated my MC, so i think the bug is on the side of MC. The covers are shown correctly in MC.

Hi John,
any news on this one? played around more with this, including deleting coverart for the albums missing the thmbnail and then re-loading it. Unfortunatly non of this triggered my client PC to register that someting has changed and update the thumbs accordingly.
MC11 is pretty dogmatic about believing there must be a thumb displayed on those albums even tough there isn't >:(

Sorry to be persistant on this, but as far as I can see, so far nothing fixed in version 245.
