Steve,
I'm still having a problem with files with long filenames. I have a bunch of files with long names (about 50 chars), and the first 40 chars of these is always the same. When you trim the filename for transfer to iPod, you don't add any unique identifier, so they all have the same name on iPod. The trouble is, when they end up in the same 'Fxx' directory, they overwrite one-another on iPod.
Of course, whenever there are more than 20 filenames with the same first 29 chars, there will ALWAYS be a problem, as two of these are guaranteed to be placed in the same Fxx directory on iPod.
Hope that makes sense...

Mark,
That makes sense and is fixable.

Great! Any idea when it could be done? I have a bunch of files I can't listen to right now on iPod, and I don't want to spend ages renaming them all...

As a temporary workaround you could rename the files before transferring them to your iPOD. I was careful to choose a naming scheme that would get round that very issue. I use:
[Track #] - [Name] - [Artist]

Steve,
You're a star. Excellent technical support, as usual :)
