I have a dvd and a cd burner in my system using XP SP2. Media center will not let me select AUDIO CD for either of them. It will select and burn DATA CD's OK but the option for Audio CD is not selectable. I am using the latest firmware for both drives and I have installed adaptec aspi drivers but that didn't change anything.
Any ideas?

What type of files do you have selected when you try?

I want to use .ape files but I have tried .wav's and .mp3's same problem

I don't know what the problem is, but here are some things to try:
If you don't have the latest version, please try it. Then copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here next time you post.
Uninstall, reboot, reinstall.
Re-detect the devices in settings/options.

You shouldn't really need these for XP (which includes CD burning capability), and I have heard of them causing problems.
What CD burning application do you have installed (Nero, Roxio, etc)? Can you burn music discs from inside them using the same MP3 files? You may also want to check the Master/Slave jumper settings on your Optical Drives. I had weird problems with a CD burner that turned out to be caused by having the drive jumper set to "Single Drive" instead of "Master" (when I had another drive on the IDE channel set to "Slave"). I never figured it out until I bought a new DVD burner and I saw the jumper.
