In my database I noticed that some 150 albums were missing cover art thumbnails, which is strange since the images are embedded in the files (ape). I tried to delete these files from the library and re-import, but with no luck.
Only way I found to restore the images are to, within MC, copy cover art from file to clip board, remove cover art, then paste it back in.
Can somebody please give any hints to a better way since this is extremly time consuming?
Found this error in .248 (but it might be older). I'm now running .250
Thanks

A similar problem I reported a while ago. I observe this behaviour since Version .236
the thumbs are ok on my Server PC, but on the media pc in th eliving room to where i stream audio through Media Server, I miss about 20% of the cover thumbs despite the fact that coverart for every album is there and readily displaye don the source computer.
Eagerly awaiting a fix to this bug :P :P

Are you using any third party software?
-
Well, that is a very wide question. In what sense? I am not using anything that should interfer directly with MC11 other than the jpgfolder plugin from Kingsparta.
-
I have had the same problem for a good while.
I dont have any plugins other than lib server and uPnP running/installed
The images are in their own directory on the same macjine as the server library and I'm running a Gigabit LAN
All of the images are visible on the server

Is the Library Server message page showing anything?
How are you viewing the cover art on the client?

Sorry which message page is that exactly?
I am viewing the cover art as album thumbnails in standard view

Click on Plugins in the tree (on the left of the screen), then on LIbrary Server. You'll see a page with messages.

Ah right - yes, it shows up - no error messages just saying connected on port 80. If I stream audio, it lists the audio files being called up. All normal from that perspective.

likewise
the images don't appear even if you remove the images and then re-paste or quick find from the images directory

Well, first copy to clip board, then remove and delete covert art from hard drive before pasting it back from the clip board works for me, but then again I'm not using the server app but mapped network drives on local library.
The library must somehow gotten corrupted for this to happen since MC just wants to use the default icon rather than showing the cover art embedded in the ape files...
Any suggestions of a quicker way to restore these thumbnails would be highly appreciated.

Tor, what you describe is definitly not the way I am going to correct corrupted coverart for 200+ albums
?
-
bbrip, I totally agree and knowing that the cover art's themselves are OK embedded in the files should mean that there must be a more effective way to do this.
I hope for a way to let the library release the path or whatever it currently holds for these albums since the only options I can see apart from the explained one is scratching the entire library and re-building it were the latter is definitely not a solution for me.
Hoping for help on the matter...

even more strange...
The album art is visible for a given album in some views but not others
also the album art displays in NetRemote correctly

There is something else here that I want to bring to your attention:
Apart form the missing thumbs, the thumbs are only being updated (for those that manage to get updated) if the respective page is in focus. This means you have to wait on a page displaying the album thumbnails, wait till the thumbs have loaded, move page down to next page, wait till loaded again, down to next ... and so on.
Shouldnt it be that ALL THUMBS should get updated automatically instead of only those currently on display?? Seems very odd to me
