Title: Unable to download any plugins
Post by: lord_calvert on October 13, 2002, 02:05:38 pm
Everytime I try to download a plugin I get a 'unable to connect to a server' message.  :'(
I really like MJ and I just shelled out 25 bucks for the latest version, and now I can't get the mp3 encoder plugin!

Anybody else had this problem?

Sometimes. It doesn't last usually. "...connect to server" problems could be anywhere in the chain of connections. It's not necessarily MJ's server although it's possible. Have you tried accessing them from the web page?
For encoders:

For the main plug-in page:

Adamsky,
Did you try the solutions offered in the previous posts in this thread? Lord_Calvert did and he was able to download the plug-ins. It ain't the software. It MIGHT be the server at JRiver but it is not a shortcoming of Media Jukebox software.
I understand that without the plug-ins, the software is not as useful but it's an internet thing. Keep trying.

Hi,

I did try the suggestions yeah, and still no luck!

I've been recommended to MJ by a number of friends who have been involved in this area for years .... so I know the software is excellent - thats why I bought it.

My issue is why on earth the MP3 encoder isn't included in the download!? .... where does it say in the pre-purchase feature list that you have to download that plug-in later!?

Thanks anyway.

I will keep trying

Try using your browser to go to the plugin page on J Rivers site... then right click and use "Save Link As" to save it on your system somewhere... then double click that file you just saved...  I've seen it work on a bizzare machine here having the same prob.
