Title: Where are the skins?
Post by: Folbo on May 01, 2005, 01:42:51 am
I am still looking for the caliber skin (a mini skin that really is mini!) but I cannot find it  :'(

If I search the forum, I get one or two hits in the forums, but not the skin itself.

I cannot seem to search the downloads section, and going through 457 skins five (5!) at a time on my dial-up connection is silly.

Is there no index page? Am I missing something? The downloads website seems to be in a different (rather little) league compared with the rest of the site >:(

Why are only certain Mega skins hosted on the skins page and not ALL of them? All the creators worked hard on their skins and they all deserve to be displayed and easily available!
Skins can be submitted.  This link is from the DevZone here:

skins and plugins are a real problem... it would be a biiiig improvement to have directly from within MC11 a page with all skins and plugins, not this same old fasioned page (since version 7 at least...)
I think a submission page is not a good solution. Not interactive enough. Why don't you give plugins / skins author the possibility to submit their work and just maybe add a button like "approved by JRiver" or so.
I would love to open MC and see "yeah, cool a new version of the Itunes skin is there" or "nice, somebody worked on a new tool". Then click. Install. That's it.
The current way, looking into threads for hours for maybe finding something is frustrating.
This same comment apply on the webradio page...

Thanks to Folbo and Marko.

Didn't know anything about these two skins. Love especially Caliper.
