Title: MC10, replay gain, Sound Check, and iPod
Post by: samplehead on May 04, 2005, 04:17:53 am
Hi,

I've googled this forever and tried searching the forum but I just can't get this workin :(

Does Audio Analysis combined with "Apply Regain", and turning on Sound Check on the iPod, result in consistent volume across tracks when played from the iPod or not?

If so, what caveats are there, because it ain't working for me....

Thanks,
Samplehead

samplehead,

Do not turn on Sound Check after transferring replay gain to the iPod transfer from MC and there should be volume leveling. The better solution which involves Sound Check is coming but not implemented yet.

If it is not working, remove the files from iPod, and then transfer them with 'Apply Replay Gain' enabled and turn off Sound Check and it should work.

Thanks Steve, I'll try that today for sure.

When you say Sound Check support is coming does that aply to version 10 or only later versions?

That would not happen until at least MC12.

That would not happen until at least MC12.

Steve mentioned that it has already been tested successfully.  I'm assuming that means no later than v12, and maybe yet in v11.

Maybe?
