hmm, I'm having all sorts of trouble with my iPod now. BTW, used my Creative Muvo N2000 with MC11 and it worked perfectly (for the first time in a long time). . .
The iPod is working fine with iTunes.
The current show stopper is -- I plug in the iPod, open MC and click on Drives/Devices. It says "Initializing handheld" and then crashes (Media Core error). hmmph.
Anyone got any ideas how to proceed?
Thx.

Tracy,
Delete your iTunesDB from your iPod (using Explorer you will find it in \iPod_Control\iTunes) and then run MC. You will not see any files on iPod but should not crash. From there, either reinitialize (and lose everything) or right click and do a rebuild db from iPod.

that worked, but see my other message for a bigger problem.

I'm having this same problem. I've been using Media Center 10 for a few months and it worked great. Now after installing Media Center 11, I click on Drives and Devices, it says 'Analyzing Devices', then it crashes with "Media Center has encountered a problem and needs to close...". I tried deleting the iTunesDB, but it still happens, and the iTunesDB shows back up as a 1kb file.

I didn't realize that iTunes was running, that's why the iTunesDB file showed back up. So I quit iTunes, deleted the iTunesDB, but MC11 still has the same problem.

Ok, I got it to work by deleting the iTunesDB, ejecting the iPod from Explorer and reconnecting the iPod.
