Is there anyway to have Media Editor scan for track breaks on a wav file? I have wav files that are recorded from LP album sides. I have been using Roxio Sound Editor to break apart tracks and scan for track breaks. The Roxio tool works pretty well. How is this done with Media Editor?
Thanks, Chris

No responses, eh? I went ahead and bought Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5. They have an improved sound editor from the one in version 7.0. I like it. It does what I want it to do and it's much faster than the previous release. The sound editor in MC 11 seems "weak" compared to the Roxio one.

Media Editor is a basic editor. It has some nice qualities, but obviously developing it further hasn't been on JRiver's schedule. There are many specialist audio editor programs, freeware and commercial.
MC's audio recorder has "Split Tracks" option for detecting the track changes. It works well if the source has normal silent gaps between the tracks.
I have recorded live & other continuous LPs to album side wave files and made CUE sheets with CueMaster (http://cuemaster.host.sk/). I use the cue files for playback in MC and for splitting the audio files when needed.
