Title: Watching video in MC gives me full screen... black!
Post by: wrafter on May 17, 2005, 07:22:07 pm
Hey,

When I open a video in MC it opens the video full screen, but all I get is a full screen of black, and the only way to get out of it is to hit Esc a few times, and on occasions when that doesn't work I've to press ctrl+f4.

I can hear the audio, but not see the video - what setting have I messed up, and how might I rectify this?

Thanks,

Mark

You may be missing a video codec.

Make sure you have the latest MC 11.  Also, try toggling the video playback engine in Options > Playback > Video

OK. I did this, and went for option that MC used Windows Player.

Now, things have changed. When I open the video it goes full screen, I do see the video, it plays at full screen and when I make a select to view it at "Standard View", it brings me back to the MC console, and I can hear the video, but I can no longer see it - it seems to disappear. How odd.

I am running 10.0.173, and would prefer not to upgrade to 11 as this is running just fine (apart from this issue) and I don't wanna break what's not broken (I hate upgrading software, something always goes bloody wrong! :) )

Any ideas?

My guess is that in Standard View your Video window is "covered up" by the Playing Now list.

Take a look at this post (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=27862.msg193291#msg193291).  You're dealing with Video playback rather than a Visualization, but they work exactly the same.
