Title: Lack of video controls
Post by: sj4short on May 23, 2005, 12:43:18 am
I have recently purchased MC 10 because it seemed the best system to organize my media and allow use with my TV but my inability to find controls such as slow/fast motion (in either forward or reverse)is a real disappointment. Am I just missing something or are such "advanced" controls as yet unavailable in MC 10? This is my first time posting to any such site, am I doin' OK?

For TV and DVD there are fast forward and rewind controls. Ctrl+Left or Right Arrow. There is no slow motion for TV.

I'm a swing dance instructor and need to break down moves from mpg and wmv files. As far as I can tell, MC won't let me watch them in slow motion, which makes it pretty darn hard to figure out the moves. Here's the functionality I'm looking for:
Variable speed slow mo... 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 speed, both forward and backward.
Single frame advance and reverse.

Does anyone know of any program that can do this well if MC can't?

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks dlone. I've downloaded and tried it. It seems pretty solid. Though it seems unable to slow down WMV files, it works great on mpgs! I like that it renders slowed audio as well as video.

Cheers,
Jeff

Your welcome Jeff  :) glad to be of help

wmv's are a pain due to their variable frame rate
normally I re-encode them as avi's to make them more compatible
